Twenty-five thousand Palestinians seek refuge in UNRWA schools to escape Israeli bombardment of Gaza

PNN / Gaza – With there being “no place safe in Gaza,” as reported numerous times by residents and the United Nations, there are now 25,000 Palestinians seeking refuge in its schools.

A spokesperson for the UN Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees said Sunday that Gazans are arriving as their homes are destroyed in the Israeli attacks.

The UNRWA spokesperson in Gaza, Adnan Abu Hasna, said Sunday, “Twenty-five thousand Palestinians were in the UNRWA schools in the Gaza Strip taking refuge from the Israeli shelling. Every hour we are preparing for new arrivals.”

Abu Hasna added that the amount of supplies that the UN agency is able to get through the crossings is not nearly enough as they try to “provide blankets, canned food and drinking water.”

  • After reading Mark Joyner’s ‘How to End the Israeli/Palestinian Conflict’ blog post I decided to create a global petition to rally support for his plan. Mark’s plan decidedly avoids pointing fingers at anyone – it only asks for 3rd party intervention to provide security for all of the innocent civilians in Gaza, the West Bank, and the surrounding Israeli towns – the vast majority of whom simply want to be left alone to live in peace. Please, sign our petition now!

    Thank you
