When the New York Stock Exchange closed for 10 days: The long depression

The “Panic of 1873″ has a preceding total Solar eclipse, we see it further down.

Wikipedia tells us:

“Years of government-promoted speculative credit created vast overexpansion [...] The failure of the Jay Cooke bank set off a chain reaction of bank failures and temporarily closed the stock market. Factories began to lay off workers as the nation slipped into depression.

The New York Stock Exchange closed for 10 days starting Sept. 20. Of the country’s 364 railroads, 89 went bankrupt. A total of 18,000 businesses failed between 1873 and 1875. Unemployment reached 14% by 1876, during a time which became known as the Long Depression.”

Here is the 360° chart of the preceding solar eclipse, calculated for New York:

Some short statements: The ruler of the money- house is Venus. Venus is positioned in house 10 => she has power to act. In what way will she act? Usually Venus is called “Fortuna Minor” (the “little luck” – Jupiter is the “Great luck”). No rule without exeptions: Here Venus is in Capricorn, she is ruled by Saturn. She must act as Saturn says. What does he say here: Scarcity, reduction, the opposite of expansion => recession. He, Saturn, is very mighty, being in his own sign (he is squaring Neptune, two totally different principles confront=> “cancer, dissolution”) and in the powerful house 10 (Public). To make matters worse Venus has a growing (applicative) conjunction with Saturn => no way that she acts following her general meaning. Her special meaning in this horoscope is contrary to her general nature.
Mercury is most elevated and strong as strong can be. Mercury means (among other meanings) “trading, commerce, dealing”. Mercury is injured by Mars, Mars fights Mercury and Mercury fights the Ascendent (90°, square). Fortuna conjuncts ascendent but is ruled by bad guy Mars.
To make matters still worse Neptun (confusion, illusion, mist, delusion, betraying) is in house one. Not to mention the “money of others” reigned by Mars who is reigned by Venus who is reigned by superbad guy Saturn. This very short and sketchy (they are not complete!) considerations alone already show what an astrologer would have done: he would be running as quick as possible as far as possible away from the stock market.

What do we see in the second chart? We see the situation (not only for the NYSE) when the [*]  (you know what) hits the fan.
So what?  After all we definitely know – looking backwards – what happened 1873. What would an astrologer have done then, especially if he had had the equipment to calculate the second chart?   This is easy. But we do not know, wheather this statement is coloured by hindsight (looking back in the past, reading history).

What would an astrologer do today? Easy. He would do the same as he would have done 1872 (seventy-two) when he saw the chart of the Solar Eclipse for New York.

1873 not only the USA was hit. The “whole” world was hit, the whole industrialized world was shaken.

Just one other thing: It is astonishing to see the similarities of the horoscope above with the one for the beginning of the war in Georgia:
